PricePulse uses monthly retail-price tables from Philippine Statistics Authority OpenSTAT, under DB/2M/2018NEW. View the PSA source series.

The data pipeline discovers source years, retains downloaded snapshots, validates records, and publishes an import atomically. Revised and withdrawn prices have a revision history. Unavailable source markers never become zero prices.

Actual imported coverage

These values come from the database. A source check time is different from an observation month or PSA release date. The latest dataset month may not be available for every commodity and location. Unknown release dates are not inferred.

Price changes

The main value is the latest observed price inside the applied range. Previous available observation means the preceding record in that range, which may not be the previous calendar month. Calendar-month and year-over-year changes require an observation at the exact earlier month. The interface shows both months and returns unavailable if the comparison record is missing.

Trend charts insert missing reporting months as gaps and use straight segments. The main chart axis fits the observed range; its table supplies exact values. Analyst monthly means are unweighted and exclude missing months.

Location comparisons

Rankings use the latest reporting month shared by every included location. Equal prices share a rank. The included-location mean gives each location equal weight and is not a national estimate. If no month is shared, available histories remain visible without a comparable ranking.

Basket estimates

Quantities are kilograms or whole pieces. Each total sums quantity × observed price at the exact selected location and month. Missing items prevent a total; they never count as zero. A period difference requires complete baskets in both months. Estimates exclude travel costs and are not shop quotes.

Sharing & export

Exploration and analyst links preserve applied commodity, location, and date filters. Comparison links also preserve included locations. Basket links preserve reporting months; items and quantities are saved locally on your device. CSV labels specify the active task and contain its underlying observations. Formula-like labels are escaped.
